Wednesday night X-Wing

X-Wing Techs
X-Wing Techs
At the club last night I got a couple of games in, the first was a league game with Dash and a B-Wing, never ran a B-Wing before and that was a mistake, I really should get to know how to fly ships before using them in a league or competition :).

The next game was with a newer player so I decided to run a really basic build:

Red Squadron Pilot — X-Wing 23
Flechette Torpedoes 2

Red Squadron Pilot — X-Wing 23
Flechette Torpedoes 2

Red Squadron Pilot — X-Wing 23
Flechette Torpedoes 2

Red Squadron Pilot — X-Wing 23
Flechette Torpedoes 2

Which is a 100pts on the nose.

He ran a couple of named Interceptors, Dark Curse and a base Bomber.

What I got from this match was practice in flying a couple of ships in formation for quite a while until his Interceptors blew it away.

After this I had three ships spaced all around the board facing in three different directions, but in one move I got them lined up as a wall all facing two of his ships at Range 1, only one of which had firing arc on me. This blew away two of his remaining ships (I had 4K turned on his Bomber earlier and was in Range 1 from behind after stripping two hull off him in the previous pass, then critted him for double damage twice). This left one Interceptor against two X-Wings both of which had at least one shield each.

His Interceptor was stressed so I made a guess that he would try to shed the stress and predicted his move correctly after movement he had arc on both of mine and both of mine had arc on him with target locks at range one. He took off shield and hull from one of the X-Wings and then my X-Wings just blew him away.

What really pleased me was the ability to get my formations right and to close formation again once the ships were split through the field.

I also realised I really like X-Wings 🙂
